DISCLAMER: It doesn't literally rank everything.
1. List Placements
1.1. Definition
- A (max) mode is any night/bonus night in a FNaF inspired/fangame that is set to its max difficulty (With some liberty on unlocked modes).
1.2. Mode Eligibility
- Any given mod can be placed within the limits specified in section 1.3
- Modes that don’t give an in game reward can still be ranked.
- Any mode that has a paywall, and isn't officially licenced or part of fanverse, is generally not placeable. However, we may make exceptions.
- No gooner games allowed.
- If the game is too broken, it will not be placed.
1.3. Ranking Guidelines
- A mode must have been beaten by at least one person with video proof, on either YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo, BiliBili, BitChute, or Rumble, in order to be placed on the list.
- Any and all modes are subject to changes in placement, name, and statistics at any time if deemed necessary. These changes are made only after discussion between the list team and approval from the list leader/admin team.
- Any given version of a game will have the next variations ranked:
- The Base Max Mode
- The Base Max Mode with the aggressive challenge on (or hard mode and onwards in the case of multiple tiers of difficulty).
- The Base Max Mode with all challenges on at once (on the hardest difficulty if present).
- The hardest variation of the self imposed challenge for any given version.
- The "Eternal" version of the mode if it has one in game or modded.
- Any mode will be ranked on the easiest strategy that doesn't simply remove a good chunk of the gameplay.
- Exploits around the same level as something like gate bug (in cams) from Chuck E. Cheese: Rebooted are allowed.
- For any uncapped AI mode, it will rank the hardest preset of all characters at the same level, or special cases like "Hardest Nightmare at Disney" which will be handled on a case by case separately be split into 3 cases:
- If the increase is linear, it will be capped to increments of 1 until it reaches 5 when it will be increased to increments of 5 unless that exceeds the theoretical limit.
- If it is exponential, increase it will be ranked solely on increments of 1, with the hardest beaten variation placing.
- For any case where the increase is linear at the start then exponential, or vice versa, it will be discussed.
1.4. Multiplayer, VR Games, and Ports
- Multiplayer games will be allowed if they are beaten singleplayer. However free roam games will not be ranked.
- VR Games are allowed on the list if they have a flat mode. If they don’t, then they won't be ranked.
- Ports of modes will not be ranked separately.
1.5. Base Game Mods/Mods of Mods/Difficutly Settings
- Any mod of a game is allowed, given it makes a significant difference compared to the source game.
- Mods of mods are also allowed, but will be held to higher scrutiny compared to mods of base games.
- Hard Modes/All Challenge variants will be ranked, as long as they are notably harder.
- Settings like No Fan (Five Nights at Freddy's 1 Ultra Custom Night) or Insanity (Five Nights at Treasure Island, But Dumb! Unlocked) will also be ranked under the same criteria as mentioned above.
1.6. Game Updates
- If a new update comes out for a game/mode that drastically changes the way the game is played, ALL previous records will be wiped, and new records will be implemented. This will also make the older version a placeable prepatch.
- Drastic changes include: major AI reworks, recodes, difficulty being altered to be higher or lower, and/or updated assets that impact the game’s difficulty or quality.
2. Submission Forms
2.1. Subimtting Completions
- General guidelines for a submissions are as follows:
- Watchable video proof of your completion (at least around 30 FPS).
- Submit the completion through the site itself.
- Dates will be taken from the YouTube video uploads.
- It needs to be viewable by anyone with the link to the completion.
- No faking, hacking, or cheating runs.
2.2. “Request Changes” Discord Forum Guidelines
- Here you may request changes, such as, but not limited to: a mode to be added/removed from the list, or a fix to the site.
- No troll requests.
- If you are submitting a greenrun update or an improved time, please provide video proof of the new personal best.
2.3. “Placement Opinions” Discord Forum Guidelines
- If you are moving a mode up, please have a mode you've beaten be the subject of comparison.
- If you are moving the mode above the "reference mode" (mode you are comparing it to), it must be easier than the mode you want moved up, and vice versa.
3. Records and Eligibility
3.1. Video Content
- The entire duration of a submission from the starting frame of the mode to the win screen must be captured on video, not just a few seconds or half the run. If this requirement is not met, you risk your submission being declined.
- Any external client, hack, speed hack, altered MFA, or unapproved build of an existing game, and/or plug-in that affects the gameplay in such a way that it differs even slightly from the original product will not be accepted. Usage of these types of programs may put you at risk of being banned from the Statistics Viewer.
- Gameplay wise, any usage of AFK strategies are banned, and your record will not be accepted if you use them.
- Splicing, heavily editing a completion, stealing someone else’s completion for your own, distorting the audio, and cutting are not permitted at all on the leaderboard, and will put you at risk of being removed off the leaderboard
- We typically consider a mode beaten when the 6 AM or win screen is triggered. Additionally, if a game bugs out and the player dies during the win screen, and they don’t receive a reward for beating it (if the game gives one for said mode), the record will be invalid.
3.2. Eligibility of Tools
- Using a timer app such as LiveSplit, is allowed and encouraged to help for certain interval based modes.
- Although some external programs are not allowed, there are certain approved modifications to games that are allowed to be used as tools for completing certain modes (as opposed to the base game). For example, Nephryte’s Sister Location Public Pre Patch is allowed to be used for a vanilla Golden Freddy completion.
- You must show proof that you are using an approved external application such as LiveSplit (or an alternative not mentioned here) in your video, either by writing or linking the program’s name in the description, or by showing it clearly in the completion video.
3.3. Framerate Guidelines
- A recording must be taken at 60 FPS to be valid. If your recording is at 30 FPS, we may ask you to determine the FPS you were playing at during your submission.
- Explanation: Due to some old games not using what's known as "delta time", the actions the programming takes are either partially or fully dependent on framerate, although if the game is delta timed, this doesn't apply.
3.4. General Guidelines
- Please don't harrass staff to verify your run. Our staff have lives outside of reviewing completions.
